Heavenly Father,

Introduction

One of the greatest privileges of the Christian life is prayer.

Prayer is how believers communicate with God.

Just as healthy relationships require communication, a healthy relationship with God includes regular prayer.

Prayer is more than asking God for things.

Prayer is fellowship with our Heavenly Father.

Through prayer we worship, give thanks, confess our sins, seek God’s wisdom, present our needs, and pray for others.

Prayer is not a religious ritual.

It is a personal conversation with God.

God’s Word for Every Believer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving us Your Word. Thank You that You have not left us to wonder who You are or how we should live. Through the Bible, You reveal Your truth, Your will, Your promises, and Your plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. As we study today, open our minds to understand Your Word and soften our hearts to obey it. Help us to treasure Scripture and grow through it every day.

Introduction

The Bible is the most important book a believer will ever read.

It is not merely a collection of religious writings.

The Bible is God’s Word.

Through Scripture, God reveals:

• His truth

Just as physical food nourishes the body, God’s Word nourishes the soul.

A healthy Christian life depends upon regularly reading, understanding, and obeying Scripture.

Using Your Gifts for God’s Glory

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for saving us through Jesus Christ and making us part of Your family. Thank You for giving each believer unique gifts, abilities, and opportunities to serve. As we study today, help us understand our calling to serve You and others. Teach us to use what You have entrusted to us faithfully, humbly, and for Your glory. Introduction

Many believers wonder:

• Does God have a purpose for my life?

The answer is yes.

Every believer has been saved for a purpose.

God not only saves people from sin, but He also calls them into a life of service.

Serving God is not reserved for pastors, missionaries, or church leaders.

Every believer is called to serve.

God has uniquely gifted each Christian to contribute to the growth of His church and the advancement of His kingdom.

Proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ

Thank You for saving us through Jesus Christ and giving us the gift of eternal life. Thank You for entrusting us with the message of the gospel. Introduction

The gospel is the greatest news the world has ever received.

God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save sinners and offer eternal life to all who believe.

After receiving this good news, believers are called to share it with others.

Sharing your faith is not reserved for pastors, missionaries, or evangelists.

Every believer is called to be a witness for Jesus Christ.

God uses ordinary people to tell others about His extraordinary grace.

What Does It Mean to Share Your Faith?

Sharing your faith means communicating the truth of the gospel to others.

It involves:

• Speaking about Jesus Christ
• Explaining the gospel
• Sharing your testimony
• Inviting others to trust in Christ

The goal is not to win arguments.

The goal is to point people to Jesus.

The Helper, Comforter, and Guide

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Thank You that You have not left us alone to live the Christian life in our own strength. Thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit to dwell within us, guide us, teach us, and transform us. As we study today, help us understand who the Holy Spirit is and how He works in the life of every believer. Open our hearts to His leading and help us walk faithfully with You.

Introduction

One of the greatest gifts God gives to every believer is the Holy Spirit.

When a person trusts in Jesus Christ, God does not simply forgive their sins and leave them to live the Christian life on their own.

He gives them His Spirit to dwell within them.

The Holy Spirit is God’s presence in the life of every believer. He teaches, guides, convicts, comforts, strengthens, and empowers Christians to follow Christ.

The Christian life was never intended to be lived by human effort alone.

It is lived through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Who Is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is not merely a force, influence, or power.

The Holy Spirit is God.

He is the third Person of the Trinity.

The Bible reveals one God who exists eternally as:

• God the Father
• God the Son
• God the Holy Spirit

Living the New Life

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for saving us through Jesus Christ and giving us new life. Thank You that the Christian life does not end at salvation but continues as we grow in our relationship with You. As we study Your Word today, teach us how to walk faithfully with Christ. Help us to grow in prayer, love Your Word, enjoy fellowship with other believers, worship You wholeheartedly, and boldly share our faith with others.

Introduction

When a person places their faith in Jesus Christ, they begin a new life.

Salvation is not the end of the journey—it is the beginning.

Just as a newborn baby must grow physically, a new believer must grow spiritually.

God desires every believer to become mature, strong, and fruitful in Christ.

Spiritual growth does not happen automatically. It happens as believers intentionally walk with Christ and depend upon Him daily.

What Does It Mean to Grow in Christ?

Spiritual growth is the lifelong process of becoming more like Jesus Christ.

Growth does not mean perfection.

It means increasing in:

• Faith
• Love
• Obedience
• Knowledge of God
• Christlike character

The First Step of Obedience

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Thank You for calling us not only to believe in Christ but also to follow Him in obedience. As we study Your Word today, help us understand the meaning and importance of baptism. Give us willing hearts to obey You and boldly identify ourselves as followers of Jesus Christ.

Introduction

After a person trusts in Jesus Christ and is born again, what comes next?

One of the first acts of obedience in the Christian life is baptism.

Baptism does not save a person. Salvation is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

However, baptism is a God-ordained step of obedience that publicly identifies a believer with Christ and His gospel.

Throughout the New Testament, those who believed in Christ were baptized as a testimony of their faith.

What Is Baptism?

Baptism is the outward declaration of an inward reality.

It is a public testimony that a person has trusted in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Baptism symbolizes:

• Union with Christ
• Death to the old life
• Burial of the old life
• Resurrection to new life in Christ

It is a visible picture of the gospel.

How We Respond to the Gospel

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to save us from our sins. Thank You for the gift of salvation that is offered freely through the gospel. As we study today, help us understand what it means to repent and believe. Give us hearts that are willing to turn from sin and place our trust completely in Christ. Introduction

The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.

But how does a person receive this salvation?

The Bible consistently gives the same answer:

Repent and believe.

Faith and repentance are the God-ordained response to the gospel. They are not two separate roads to salvation but two sides of the same response to Christ.

When a person truly turns to Christ, they turn away from trusting themselves, their sin, and their old way of life.

What Is Faith?

Faith is more than simply believing that God exists.

Many people acknowledge facts about God without truly trusting Him.

Biblical faith is placing your trust and confidence in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross.

Faith means relying upon Christ alone for salvation.

Introduction

One of the most important questions every person must answer is: What is sin?

Many people think sin is merely making mistakes, breaking rules, or doing bad things. The Bible presents a much deeper reality. Sin is humanity’s greatest problem because it separates us from God and brings spiritual death.

Before we can understand salvation, we must first understand why we need to be saved.

The good news of the gospel only makes sense when we recognize the seriousness of sin and our inability to save ourselves.

What Is Sin?

The Bible uses several words to describe humanity’s condition before God.

Sin

The Greek word most commonly translated as sin is hamartia(ἁμαρτία).

The word literally means:

• To miss the mark
• To fail to reach the standard
• To fall short of God’s perfect righteousness

Why Every Believer Needs a Church Family

Thank You for saving us through Jesus Christ and making us part of Your family. Thank You that You have not called us to walk alone, but have placed us into a community of believers where we can worship, grow, serve, and encourage one another. Introduction

When a person becomes a Christian, they enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

God designed believers to grow together as part of a spiritual family called the church.

Many people say, “I love Jesus, but I do not need the church.”

The Bible teaches otherwise.

Every believer needs fellowship, encouragement, accountability, teaching, and opportunities to serve alongside other followers of Christ.

The church is God’s design for helping believers grow spiritually and fulfill His mission in the world.

What Is the Church?

When people hear the word “church,” they often think of a building.

However, the church is not a building.

The church is God’s people.
