5. Intercessory Prayer
Praying on behalf of others.
1 Timothy 2:1
“Supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men.”
Examples:
- Praying for family
- Praying for church leaders
- Praying for missionaries
- Praying for those in need
Praying With Confidence
Believers can approach God confidently because of Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 4:16
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace.”
Prayer is not based on our worthiness.
Prayer is based on Christ’s finished work.
Because Jesus is our Savior and High Priest, we can come to God freely.
Pray Continually
1 Thessalonians 5:17
“Pray without ceasing.”
This does not mean praying every second of every day.
It means living with an ongoing awareness of God’s presence and maintaining regular fellowship with Him.
Prayer becomes a lifestyle rather than an occasional event.
