Session 10 — Prayer

We acknowledge:

  • His holiness
  • His greatness
  • His goodness
  • His authority

Prayer reminds us who God is.

Seeking God’s Will

“Your kingdom come. Your will be done.”

Prayer is not about persuading God to do our will.

Prayer is about submitting ourselves to His will.

As believers pray, they learn to desire what God desires.

Bringing Our Needs to God

“Give us this day our daily bread.”

God invites His children to bring their needs before Him.

This includes:

  • Physical needs
  • Emotional needs
  • Spiritual needs
  • Family concerns
  • Daily challenges

God cares about every aspect of our lives.

Confession and Forgiveness

“And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”

Prayer includes confession.

Confession means agreeing with God about our sin.

As believers grow in Christ, they continually seek God’s cleansing and restoration.

Prayer also reminds us to extend forgiveness to others.

Spiritual Protection

“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

Believers face spiritual battles.

Prayer helps us depend upon God’s strength and protection.

We acknowledge that victory comes through Him.
