The Failure of Formation

Question 4

Which fruit of the Spirit needs greater growth?

Question 5

In what area of life do you find it hardest to stay in step with the Spirit?

Question 6

How can our church help one another walk in the Spirit more faithfully?

Personal Reflection

Take a moment to prayerfully consider:

  • Am I merely learning about Christ, or am I following Christ?
  • Am I depending on the Holy Spirit daily?
  • Is there evidence of spiritual fruit in my life?
  • Have I substituted religious activity for genuine intimacy with God?
  • Am I alive in Christ but neglecting to walk in step with Him?

Key Truth

Living in the Spirit is the gift of salvation.

Walking in the Spirit is the response of discipleship.

We do not walk to receive life. We walk because we have received life.

Practical Application

This week:

Daily Prayer

Before beginning your day, pray:

“Holy Spirit, help me walk in step with You today. Guide my thoughts, words, attitudes, and decisions according to Your will.”

Action Step

Choose one area where you sense God calling you to greater obedience and intentionally submit that area to Him this week.

Journaling Challenge

At the end of each day, ask:

  1. Where did I see God working today?
  2. Where did I follow the Spirit’s leading?
  3. Where did I resist His leading?
  4. What is God teaching me through this?
