Choosing Peace Over Bitterness

It whispers:

“Don’t let your guard down.”

“Don’t forget what happened.”

“Stay ready to defend yourself.”

But bitterness cannot deliver what it promises.

It cannot heal.

It cannot restore.

It cannot give rest.

It only keeps old wounds open.

Peace offers something different.

Peace says:

“You no longer have to carry this alone.”

“You can trust God with what you cannot control.”

“You can rest without pretending that the hurt never existed.”

Choosing peace may look simple.

Pausing before reacting.

Whispering a prayer when resentment rises.

Redirecting your thoughts toward God’s faithfulness.

Expressing gratitude instead of rehearsing injury.

Returning, once again, to the refuge of Christ.

These choices may seem small.

But they shape the direction of the heart.

Perhaps today you sense bitterness knocking once again.

Do not be discouraged.

The invitation remains the same.

You do not have to entertain it.

You do not have to give it authority.
